An official said that the truck crushed dozens of animals on the spot and hit a member of the nomadic family, identified as Muzaffar Ali, who died instantly.

Officials said the livestock belonged to Abdul Wahib, son of Mohammad Qasima. The family was on seasonal migration when the accident took place.

Out of the nearly 400 sheep and goats in the herd, 81 were killed and 16 sustained injuries in the incident, causing major loss to the family, officials said.

Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further investigation. (JKNS)
