Highway reopens for traffic after closure due to landslides in Ramban

Srinagar: The traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest o the world, has been restored after closure for several hours following landslides along the thoroughfare, official sources said.
They said the highway was blocked at Digdol Ramban due to landslide following incessant rains over night.
A traffic official here said that the traffic highway was restored on the strategic road around 9.a.m. and small vehicles are being allowed presently.
Meanwhile, the officials said the traffic on Srinagar-Leh highway was closed as precautionary measure following snowfall near Zojila.
