LSrinagar, Aug 21: The Special Crime Wing Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K on Friday carried out a search at Safakadal in Srinagar in connection with alleged forgery in J&K Police appointment.

In a handout the CBK said the house search was conducted at the residence of SG Ct Manzoor Ahmad Najar at Safakadal in case FIR No 10/2026 registered under sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC.

He said the search was carried out after obtaining a search warrant from the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E) Srinagar.

The case relates to securing appointment in J&K Police Department by allegedly submitting forged documents pertaining to date of birth and educational qualification, he said.

The official said the search was being conducted as per due procedure and further investigation is going on.

Meanwhile, the public has been advised to remain vigilant against fraudsters and report such incidents directly to SSP SCW Kashmir. Complaints can also be sent to official email [email protected].
