In a statement, an ACB spokesperson said the chargesheet in FIR No. 06/2023 registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar was filed before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar against 10 accused, including seven SMC officers and three private individuals.

The case involves allegations of abuse of official position, criminal conspiracy and extending undue benefit to private beneficiaries under relevant provisions of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, RPC, RD Act and the Evacuees (Administration of Property) Act.

The spokesperson said the case was registered following allegations that officials of Ward No. 28, Batamaloo, had allegedly abused their official position and conspired with beneficiary Reyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rahim Dar, resident of Tengpora, Batamaloo, to facilitate illegal and unauthorised construction near Tiny Hearts School.

He said the investigation conducted by Police Station ACB Srinagar, based on oral and documentary evidence, substantiated the allegations against the accused officers and private beneficiaries.

The spokesperson said that after obtaining the requisite sanction for prosecution of the public servants from the government, the chargesheet was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar for judicial determination.
