Srinagar, July 30: In a significant move against Pakistan-based terror networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified its campaign against terrorism by initiating legal action against several absconding terrorists operating from across the border. Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has ordered the attachment of properties belonging to five notorious terrorists currently based in Pakistan, officials said on Thursday.

According to official details, the action is part of the ongoing strategy to dismantle the financial and logistical support structures of terrorist organisations by targeting the assets of militants who have fled to Pakistan but continue to orchestrate terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

In another major development, J&K Police has secured proclamation proceedings against Mohd Qasim, a top operative of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who is also currently operating from Pakistan. Officials said the legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant provisions of law to declare him a proclaimed offender.

Notably, Mohd Qasim’s property had already been attached by the authorities in March 2026 as part of the continuing crackdown on terrorist networks and their support systems.

Officials reiterated that the attachment of properties and initiation of proclamation proceedings reflect the commitment of J&K Police to take stringent action against terrorists and their infrastructure, irrespective of their location. They added that such measures are aimed at disrupting the operational capabilities of terror outfits and sending a strong message that those involved in anti-national activities will face the full force of law.

The anti-terror operations and legal actions against Pakistan-based militants are expected to continue as security agencies intensify efforts to curb terrorism and safeguard peace and security across Jammu and Kashmir.
