Desh Rattan Dubey assumes reins of JKCA as officiating president in spirited ceremony

SRINAGAR, June 27: In a colourful, well-attended ceremony at the JKCA office inside SK Stadium, Srinagar on Saturday, Vice President Desh Rattan Dubey formally assumed charge as Officiating President of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) following the suspension of President Javid Ahmed Kitab.

Dubey received a rousing reception alongside members of the Apex Council and the Working Committee, who were warmly garlanded amid an energetic and vibrant atmosphere. The ceremony drew a large turnout from the cricket fraternity and JKCA staff, reflecting broad support for the Association’s leadership transition.

Notable attendees included Shri Vivek Khajuria, Secretary JKCA; Wajahat Wasti, Joint Secretary JKCA; Rajan Singh, Treasurer JKCA; Anil Koul, Apex Council member; Chander Mohan; Rohit Malhotra; Kirti Dhar, the first-ever woman Working Committee member of JKCA; Anil Sharma; Sumesh Dhamral; Abdul Qayoom, Member of the Cricket Advisory Committee; Majid Dar, former Member, Cricket Development Kashmir; Vikrant Taggar, Apex Council member; and the entire JKCA staff.

Addressing those present, the Officiating President and the Secretary reaffirmed their commitment to managing the Association’s affairs with utmost professionalism and transparency.

They emphasized that all major decisions will be taken collectively by the Apex Council, underscoring a spirit of teamwork and consensus in steering JKCA forward.
