Govt transfers 6 JKAS officers

Srinagar, June 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered a fresh reshuffle in the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), transferring and posting six officers with immediate effect as part of its ongoing administrative restructuring.

According to Government Order No. 1078-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated June 12, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor, the transfers and postings have been made in the interest of administration and shall take effect immediately.

As per the order, Akanksha Kalsotra, JKAS, who was serving as Programme and Coordination Executive in the Directorate of Information, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to the Government, Home Department.

Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, Junior Scale JKAS and Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Baramulla, has been appointed as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.

Similarly, Pulkit Dutta, Junior Scale JKAS, previously posted as Under Secretary in the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), has also been transferred and posted as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.

The order further stated that Sumit Suri, Junior Scale JKAS and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Khour, has been posted as Under Secretary in the Home Department.

Likewise, Ajay Singh, Junior Scale JKAS and Block Development Officer, Duggain, has been transferred and appointed as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.

Meanwhile, Monish Kumar, JKAS, presently serving as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department, has been transferred and directed to await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department.

The latest reshuffle forms part of the government’s continuing efforts to streamline administrative functioning and strengthen governance through timely deployment of officers in key departments, the order said.
