CM Omar calls on PM Modi, seeks early restoration of J&K statehood

Srinagar, June 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed a range of issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including the early restoration of statehood, economic development, and promotion of tourism.

In a post on X, Abdullah said he called on the Prime Minister to deliberate on matters of importance to Jammu and Kashmir, with particular emphasis on the early return of statehood, the condition of the economy, the pace of development works, and measures to further boost the tourism sector.

“Called on Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji to discuss issues of importance to J&K including early return of Statehood, the state of the economy, pace of development and promotion of tourism,” Abdullah posted.

The CM also congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years in office. “I congratulated him for the landmark of completing 12 uninterrupted years in office,” Abdullah posted.

The Office of the J&K CM also posted on X, “Chief Minister called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi in New Delhi today and discussed key issues concerning Jammu & Kashmir, including the early restoration of statehood, state of the economy and the pace of development.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for continued support from the Government of India to accelerate economic growth, strengthen connectivity, generate employment, expand infrastructure and enhance public welfare across Jammu & Kashmir. He also congratulated the Hon’ble Prime Minister for completing 12 uninterrupted years in office.”
