Rajouri, June 8: At least 15 passengers sustained injuries after a bus overturned in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday , triggering a prompt rescue operation by local authorities and residents.

Officials said the mishap occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the bus to overturn on the road. Soon after the accident, police teams, locals and emergency responders rushed to the spot and shifted the injured passengers to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The injured were provided immediate medical assistance, and hospital authorities said that all of them are undergoing treatment. The condition of the injured passengers is stated to be stable.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Authorities have appealed to drivers to exercise caution while driving, particularly on hilly routes, to prevent such mishaps.
