Director MeT Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather is likely to remain partly to generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light rain and thundershowers at many places across the Union Territory.

He said there is also a possibility of gusty winds with speeds reaching 40–50 kmph and hailstorms at a few locations during this period.

From April 20 to 23, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, while from April 24 to 26, conditions will largely stay dry with brief spells of light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds at isolated places, particularly during afternoon hours.

The MeT department has issued an advisory urging farmers to suspend farm operations during April 18 and 19 in view of the expected adverse weather conditions. (KNC)
