An official said vehicular movement has been stopped from both ends at safer locations as a precautionary measure.

“Due to continuous sliding and shooting stones, both tubes are blocked between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote. Traffic has been stopped at either ends at safe locations,” the official said.

He added that Traffic Control Units (TCU) Jammu and Srinagar have been informed to halt movement of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and light motor vehicles (LMVs) during night hours till at least one tube is cleared by the National Highways Authority of India.
