Defence sources said that acting on specific intelligence inputs and continuous surveillance, Army personnel noticed movement of suspected terrorists close to the LoC and immediately took action to prevent them from breaching into the Indian side.

The troops engaged the infiltrators and successfully thwarted the infiltration attempt through coordinated ground action, they said.

Following the incident, additional forces were deployed in the area and surveillance has been intensified with the support of ground and aerial assets to ensure effective domination of the sector.
