Anantnag, Feb 27: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Anantnag East, Riyaz Ahmad Khan inaugurated a newly constructed Health Sub-Centre at Hutmarah and laid the foundation stone for a Primary School building at Vail, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare and education infrastructure.
The Health Sub-Centre at Hutmarah has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh and is expected to enhance access to essential medical services for residents of the village and adjoining areas. The facility aims to reduce the burden on higher health institutions by providing primary care services closer to the community.
Speaking on the occasion, Khan said that improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots level remains a top priority. He assured the public that all necessary support would be provided to ensure the smooth functioning of the centre.
Block Medical Officer Mattan, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, along with other officials from the health department, was present during the inauguration ceremony.
Later, the MLA laid the foundation stone for a new Primary School building at Vail, which will be constructed by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Works Department (R&B), Sub Division Seer, at an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakh. The project is aimed at improving educational infrastructure and creating a better learning environment for students in the area.
Addressing the media, Khan said, “We are here for public service and are committed to providing improved health and education facilities to the people. These projects reflect our resolve to address the genuine needs of the public.
He also appealed to the public to remain patient and extend cooperation to the administration for the timely completion of ongoing and pending developmental works.
Among those present were AEE Sub Division Seer Engineer Sirjohn, Range Officer Mattan, BMO Mattan, and other concerned officials.
