Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, the CM said that after checking records, he found that his cabinet had no role in approving the project.

“One member had said that the cabinet had approved the ropeway project. I checked the records and found that the cabinet did not approve it. It is also not a decision of the Administrative Council,” he said.

The CM said the project was approved by the Lieutenant Governor in September 2024 before formation of the elected government.

The CM said that both the House and the people were being misled.

“In an emotional moment, the member had yesterday threatened to resign,” Omar said.

The MLA from the Mata Vaishno Devi segment Baldev Raj Sharma had claimed in the House on Monday that the cabinet had approved the project and that he would resign if his claims proved incorrect.(KNO)
