Special train from Budgam extended to SMVD Katra

Jammu, Feb 9: Northern Railway’s Jammu Division on Friday announced that the service of Special Train No. 04688/04687 between Budgam and Banihal has been extended up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station.

The move, aimed at improving connectivity and providing greater convenience to passengers, will come into effect from February 11, officials said.

According to the announcement, Special Train No. 04688 will run from Budgam to Banihal as per the existing schedule. From Banihal, the train will depart at 10:10 AM and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:00 PM, halting at Khari, Sumber, Sangaldan, Sawalkot, Dugga, Bakkal, and Reasi stations.

For the return journey, Special Train No. 04687 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:45 PM, arriving at Banihal at 5:30 PM. The onward journey from Banihal to Budgam will follow the current timetable.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the extension aims to facilitate the movement of local passengers and tourists while enhancing Kashmir’s rail connectivity.

Passengers have been advised to check the official website, dial 139, or use the NTES platform for updated train information before travelling, the officials added.
