According to officials, a Police Station Khanyar team intercepted a Scorpio vehicle (JK01-AW-8898) during a naka check at Miskeen Bagh, Baghi Roop Singh. During the search, heroin, a banned narcotic substance, was seized and the vehicle was also confiscated.

The arrested persons have been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Mir, his daughter Muskan Gulzar Mir and son Ubaid Gulzar, all residents of Khanyar. Preliminary investigation suggests the trio was actively involved in supplying drugs across Srinagar and had allegedly purchased the vehicle from illegal proceeds of narcotics trade.

Police have registered FIR No. 08/2026 under sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act and launched further investigation to trace forward and backward links of the network. A financial probe has also been initiated to identify and attach properties acquired through drug trafficking.

Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and urged citizens to share information to help eradicate the menace.
