Srinagar, Jan 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) for vetting the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project titled “Mid-Term Augmentation of J&K State Data Centre (SDC)”.

According to Government Order No. 118-JK (GAD) of 2026 dated January 28, 2026, issued by the GAD-JK, the committee has been constituted in terms of S.O. 227 dated July 9, 2021 of the Finance Department, to examine and appraise the DPR for the project in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the order, the committee will be chaired by the Under Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department, and will include the Chief Executive Officer, JaKeGA; Director, NIELIT; State Informatics Officer, NIC J&K; a representative from IIT Jammu to be nominated by the Director, IIT Jammu; and a representative from NIT Srinagar to be nominated by the Director, NIT Srinagar. The Under Secretary, IT Department, will also act as Member-Convener of the committee.

The committee has been tasked with examining and vetting the DPR in a comprehensive manner, covering technical, financial, administrative, legal and operational aspects. It will also assess whether the objectives, scope, timelines and deliverables proposed in the DPR are clearly defined and realistic.

Further, the TAC will scrutinize the proposed technical architecture, design parameters, interoperability, scalability, security provisions and sustainability aspects to ensure adherence to prevailing government standards.

The committee has been directed to submit its report to the Information Technology Department within 21 days from the date of issuance of the order. The Member-Convener will coordinate with all members to ensure timely meetings and appraisal of documents.

The intending department may also nominate a nodal officer well-versed with the project for effective coordination.
