Kulgam, Jan 20: The Special Enforcement Team of Traffic Rural Kashmir on Tuesday seized the motorcycle of a chronic stunt biker in Kulgam district as part of its ongoing drive against rash and dangerous driving. The action was taken under the supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, and led by DySP Traffic Qazigund Kulgam.

The biker, identified as Shawer Ahmad Lone of Hariwarh, Kulgam, was stopped and his motorcycle seized under relevant provisions of law for indulging in stunt riding, officials said. The enforcement team acted promptly to prevent potential road mishaps and ensure public safety.

Following the interception, a counselling session was held with the biker, during which he was educated about the serious consequences of stunt driving and the negative influence such acts and related videos posted on social media have on students and youth. Officials emphasized that such reckless behaviour not only endangers the rider but also poses a grave risk to other road users.

SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir has already issued special directions to field officers to intensify enforcement and ensure zero tolerance towards rash, negligent and stunt driving across rural areas of Kashmir. The drive aims to curb traffic violations and reduce road accidents and fatalities.

Meanwhile, motorists have once again been advised to act responsibly and refrain from handing over vehicles to minors, stunt riders or individuals without a valid driving licence. Traffic police warned that such negligence could lead to fatal accidents and strict legal action.

The Traffic Rural Kashmir reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and urged the public to cooperate in maintaining road discipline.
