Govt assigns interim charge of JKBOSE Chairman to Secretary BOSE

Jammu, Jan 12: The government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday assignined the interim and additional charges for the post of Chairman JKBOSE and director SCERT.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (Services), Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, JKAS, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Chairman, JKBOSE, as an interim arrangement.

The order, issued under sub-section (1) of Section 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Act, 1975, states that Sheikh shall discharge the functions of Chairman in addition to his own duties until further orders. The post of JKBOSE Chairman has been lying vacant for a considerable period.

In another order, the government assigned additional charge of Director, Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) to Mr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS, who is presently serving as Director, School Education, Jammu.

As per Government Order No. 44-JK(GAD) of 2026, Chowdhary will hold the additional responsibility alongside his existing duties until further orders, in the interest of administration.
