Shopian, Nov 30: A felicitation ceremony of Ridah Poshi was Sunday held at Durapora in honour of three young girls who successfully completed Hifz-e-Qur’an Pak (memorisation of the Holy Qur’an) at Idara-e-Jamia Rouzatul Banat, Durapora, Shopian.

The programme also featured a one-day conference titled “یک روزہ عظمتِ قرآن کانفرنس” under whose banner several renowned scholars delivered inspiring lectures.

The speakers highlighted the importance of the Holy Qur’an and expressed deep concern over rising social evils in society.

While speaking with us, Irshad Hydri, Principal of Idara Tehqiqat-e-Islamia, said that such programmes play a vital role in promoting moral and spiritual development. “We are proud that our institution has produced three new Hafizaat.

At a time when the world is surrounded by the menace of drugs, we want to convey a message to young girls: stay away from harmful activities and devote yourselves to sacred religious knowledge along with modern scientific education,” he added.

At the conclusion of the event, mementos, certificates, and traditional shawls were presented to the newly honoured daughters of the Valley in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
