Soon after winning the seat, Aga Muntazir, said that the verdict reflects the people’s response to what he described as years of humiliation inflicted by the National Conference on the inhabitants of the constituency.

Speaking after his victory, Aga Muntazir said the people of Budgam had been taken for granted for nearly seven decades and claimed that the situation deteriorated further after 2024 when, according to him, the National Conference stopped addressing public concerns in the region.

“This victory is the reply of the people of Budgam to the attitude and actions of the National Conference. For seventy years, especially since 2024, they have ignored the genuine issues of the people and treated them with indifference. Today, the public has spoken,” he said.

The PDP candidate thanked voters across the constituency for placing their trust in him and the party. He said the mandate carries a responsibility that he intends to fulfil with dedication.

“I am grateful to the people of Budgam for their faith in me. I assure them that I will work for their welfare, development and dignity. My doors will remain open for everyone, regardless of political affiliation,” he added.

Aga Muntazir said he would pursue public issues through consistent engagement with the local population.
