During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed government departments to accelerate damage assessments and ensure the timely distribution of relief to the affected population. He stressed that the administration must work with urgency to mitigate hardships faced by people in flood-hit areas.

Omar Abdullah noted that connectivity across the Union Territory had been largely restored, with most roads reopened to traffic. However, he directed officials to expedite the reopening of the remaining closed roads to restore full connectivity at the earliest.

Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of restoration works, including power supply, water services, and essential commodities in affected areas. Sources said he emphasised coordination among departments to avoid delays and duplication of efforts.

The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of transparency in relief distribution and ordered that monitoring mechanisms be put in place to ensure aid reaches genuine beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of various line departments, who were tasked with submitting detailed progress reports on rehabilitation initiatives in the coming days. (KNT)
