Police spokesperson in a statement said, it has come to the notice of Srinagar Police that certain false and misleading reports regarding flood management in the District are being circulated on social media platforms.

It is to clarify that Police and Civil Administration are working in close coordination, with sustained efforts ongoing to effectively manage, contain, and mitigate any disaster-related situations in a professional and timely manner.

The general public is advised to act responsibly and refrain from sharing or forwarding unverified information.
Misinformation can lead to unnecessary panic and disrupt public order.

Srinagar Police is closely monitoring the situation, and strict legal action will be taken, under relevant provisions of law, against those found involved in spreading rumours or false information.

We urge all citizens to stay informed and cooperate with authorities, reads the statement.
