Srinagar, Aug 26: Chief Minister on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing flood situation in Jammu through an online meeting with senior officials, even as he was scheduled to visit Jammu.
Official sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the meeting focused on the rising water levels in major rivers and streams and the precautionary measures being taken to safeguard vulnerable areas of the summer capital.
The Chief Minister directed the administration to remain on high alert and ensure that flood control infrastructure, evacuation plans and relief measures are kept ready.
He emphasised that timely coordination between various departments is crucial in view of the unpredictable weather and asked district authorities to keep close contact with local people.
