MHA promotes SJM Gilani to DGP Grade

Srinagar, July 29: Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Tuesday empanelled Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gilani as DG among IPS officers.

An order in this regard has been issued by the MHA and the 1994-AGMUT Cadre officer figures among 35 IPS officers empanelled as DG.

An alumnus of Sainik School Manasbal, Gillani has served J&K in various important capacities including SDPO Uri, SDPO Kothibagh, SDPO Gandhinagar, SP (East) Srinagar, SP Kargil, AIG(P) PHQ, SSP Srinagar, IGP Crime J&K, IGP Kashmir Zone, Director Vigilance, J&K and ADGP, Armed.(GNS)
