Srinagar, July 21: The All Sikh Minority Employees Association and the All Employees Joint Association Kashmir (AEJAK), under the leadership of Chairperson Jagmeet Kaur Bali, held a crucial meeting with J&K Bank’s Managing Director and Chairman, Amitava Chatterjee, to address a range of concerns affecting employees and customers alike.

During the meeting, the delegation including DP Iqbal Singh ,and SP Singh raised several pressing issues, including employee security, unauthorized EMI deductions, lack of adequate insurance coverage for account holders, limited employment opportunities, and the need for special initiatives for loyal customers and retired pensioners.

Chairperson Jagmeet Kaur Bali highlighted the growing concerns among minority employees, particularly regarding workplace safety and financial transparency. She emphasized the urgent need for policy reforms to protect the interests of employees and ensure trust in the banking system.

In response, Chairman Amitava Chatterjee assured the delegation that the bank is actively working on multiple fronts to improve services and address all genuine concerns. He revealed that new customer-centric schemes are in the pipeline, especially tailored for senior citizens aged 80 and above. Additionally, he promised swift rectification of frequent system crashes and service downtimes that have inconvenienced customers in recent months.

Chatterjee reiterated the bank’s commitment to enhancing overall customer experience and ensuring that both employees and clients are supported with reliable and transparent services. He appreciated the proactive engagement by the association and welcomed further dialogue for future improvements.

The meeting marked a significant step towards greater accountability and inclusivity in J&K Bank’s operations, setting a precedent for continued collaboration between employee associations and the banking leadership.
