Director MeT Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said, the weather is expected to remain generally dry from June 4 to 8.

However, a brief spell of rain or showers during the late afternoon at isolated places cannot be ruled out. From June 9 to 10, dry weather is likely to continue across most areas, he said.

The MeT Centre Srinagar has issued a cautionary advisory regarding possible weather-related hazards on June 2, especially during late afternoon and evening hours.

There is a possibility of thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. People have been advised to stay away from loose structures, electric poles, hanging wires, and old trees to avoid untoward incidents, Dr. Mukhtar said.

Intense rainfall in some pockets may lead to localized flash floods. Residents in vulnerable areas have been urged to remain alert and avoid venturing into risky zones, he said.

The department has requested the general public to take necessary precautions and follow safety measures during this brief period of weather instability.
