Kupwara, May 18: Chairperson J&K Waqf Board and BJP National Executive Member Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, as part of a high-level BJP delegation, visited border areas of Karnah near the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday and met the victims affected by recent cross-border shelling.

The delegation comprised BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, senior leaders Shakti Parihar, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Anwar Khan, Mudasir Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, MM War, Sahil Bashir Bhat and others. The team visited multiple villages where Pakistani shelling had caused extensive damage to civilian properties.

Dr Andrabi personally handed over cash assistance on the spot to several affected families as a gesture of support. She assured the people that the Government of India is actively working to help the border population and that further aid is underway.

Addressing the press, Dr Andrabi strongly criticised Pakistan for sponsoring terror. “Terrorism is the state policy of Pakistan. They don’t trust their own army, they trust terror proxies,” she said. “They have planned and executed the killings of our youth for decades under the guise of their Kashmir policy.”

She added that Pakistan’s terror machinery has caused massive harm to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. “But now our valiant army has dismantled their centres of evil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that any future attacks will invite serious consequences,” Dr Andrabi asserted.

This was the second consecutive day of BJP’s outreach in the border areas of Kupwara following their visit to Uri. The party leadership reiterated that the central government is fully committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of civilians living along the borders. (JKNS)
