Weatherman predicts hot, dry conditions

Srinagar, Apr 26: Meteorological Department on Saturday said that Jammu and Kashmir will witness generally dry weather conditions over the next several days, with the possibility of heatwave at isolated places in the Jammu division.

Diretor MET Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said, “Hot and dry conditions are expected across J&K in the coming days. People are advised to follow all administration and traffic advisories strictly.”

Sharing the forecast details, he said, “April 26 will remain generally dry with chances of a brief spell of light rain or thundershowers at isolated places towards afternoon. From April 27 to 30, the weather will stay largely dry.

Dry conditions are also likely on May 1, while there is a possibility of light rain or thundershower at isolated places on May 2 and 3, Mukhtar said.”

Warning of rising temperatures, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said, “Generally hot and dry weather is likely over Jammu division, and a heatwave may occur at some isolated places.” He further advised, “People should stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid working outdoors during peak afternoon hours between 12 pm and 3 pm.”
