Shalla Kadal Attack Case Cracked, Main Accused Arrested: Police

Srinagar, Feb 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said to have arrested the main accused involved in the killing of two Amritsar residents.

Addressing a news conference here, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, V K Birdhi, said that a main accused identified as Adil Manzoor Langoo, involved in the killing of two Amritsar residents of February 07, 2024.

He said that a case under FIR number 08/2024 under section 302, 307 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act, 15,16,20 ULA(P) Act resgistered in PS Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar following which Police zeroed in upon certain suspects and later on, based upon clinching evidence collected during investigation, identified and arrested the main accused Adil Manzoor Langoo of Zaldagar, Srinagar.

“It came to fore that the accused had conspired with his handler across in Pakistan for commission of the terror crime. Accused was a highly motivated and radicalised individual,” police said.

The accused was highly motivated and radicalised individual, police said, adding that his handler in Pakistan radicalized him on social media and motivated him to carry out the terror attack.

The Police also said that weapon of offence and other incriminating material was recovered.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General CKR has constituted a SIT to be headed by SP South for investigation of the case and further investigation is being attended to expeditiously.
