Srinagar, Mar 26: Green Valley Educational Institute successfully hosted an interschool speech competition on the theme ‘Fasting Beyond Food: Controlling Our Words and Actions’.

The event brought together students from around twelve schools, including Crescent Public School, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Soura, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Gulabbagh, Islamia Higher Secondary School, The Legends School of Education, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Soura, SP Higher Secondary School, Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, and Birla Open Minds International School.

The competition aimed to highlight the true essence of fasting, emphasizing self-restraint not only from food but also from negative speech and actions.

Participants eloquently discussed how fasting nurtures patience, kindness, and discipline, encouraging individuals to practice mindfulness in their words and behavior.

A distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Prof. Mohammad Shafi from the Central University of Kashmir and Syed Suhaib Hassan from the University of Kashmir, evaluated the participants. The judges praised the students’ powerful speeches and commended Green Valley Educational Institute for providing such an impactful platform for young minds.

On the occasion, Riyaz Kathjoo, Principal of Green Valley Educational Institute, highlighted the importance of such competitions in shaping students’ moral and intellectual development.

He encouraged students to apply the values discussed in their daily lives, fostering a culture of respect, patience, and self-discipline.

The competition concluded with Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute securing the first position, followed by The Legend School of Education in second place, while Crescent Public School earned third place.

The management of Green Valley Educational Institute congratulated all participants for their remarkable performances and reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing intellectual and moral growth among students.

The Chairman of the institute emphasized that such platforms will continue to be provided, ensuring students receive the best opportunities to learn, express, and grow in a competitive and enriching environment.
