The fire that happened under the cover of darkness witnessed quick action on the part of the local fire department.

As per official reports, according to Kashmir Bulletin (KB), the distress call was received at 03:50 hours. The F&ES Shopian company—under the command of Pulwama—was prompt in mobilizing, reporting out at 03:51 hours and reaching the location by 03:58 hours. Firemen were quick in starting dousing operations, managing to bring the fire in the upper floors of the damaged buildings under control.

People of the locality woke up to this din and since have been reassured by the administration that there’s nothing to be worried about. The authorities continue to monitor the site and unravel the motive of the inferno while implementing precautions to minimize any further damage.

Even as the probe continues, local authorities stress vigilance and preparedness at the community level in handling such crises, praising the swift response that contained the situation quickly.
