The incident has raised concerns about the durability of the lakefront infrastructure and the impact of erosion in the area.

Eyewitnesses told KNT that the erosion has left a part of the walkway unstable, posing a risk to pedestrians and visitors frequenting the scenic Boulevard stretch.

This is not the first such incident, as a major portion of the path near Badyari Chowk, Dalgate, had also been washed away earlier, highlighting recurring infrastructure vulnerabilities.

Expressing concern over the situation, National Conference legislator Tanvir Sadiq urged the Deputy Commissioner to take immediate action to prevent further deterioration. He emphasized the need for a long-term solution to protect the lakefront from erosion and ensure the safety of the public.

Local residents and business owners along the Boulevard have also voiced their worries, fearing that continued neglect could lead to more extensive damage.
