Srinagar, Jan 09: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three militant associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

In a statement, the police said that during the investigation of case FIR Number 02/2025 U/S 13, 18 and 39 UAPA of police station Qaimoh, Kulgam Police along with Army (1RR, 1Para(SF)) and CRPF (18 BN), apprehended three terrorist associates namely, Ubaid Khursheed Khanday son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday, Maqsood Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Ramzan Bhat and Umer Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad Dar all residents of Thokerpora Qaimoh, Kulgam.

Total recovery as under mentioned was recovered from their possession, 02 AK- Series Rifles, 08 AK series Magazines, 217 AK rounds, 05 Hand Grenades, and 02 magazine pouchs.

The arrested terrorist associates were in close contact with active terrorist’s of proscribed terrorist outfit LeT/TRF and were planning to carry out major terrorist activities in the Kulgam District, he said.

This operation further ascertains the continuous efforts of Kulgam Police against anti-national elements by thwarting a potentially grave terrorist incident. Kulgam police welcome any such actionable inputs from the general public and assure swift action as per law, reads the statement.
