Jammu, Jan 5: A soldier died of firearm injury in Poonch district on Sunday.

Official sources told GNS that the there was a gunshot and the soldier was found in pool of blood in his place of posting in Sawajian Mandi area of the district. Although the soldier, a resident of Rajasthan, was taken to hospital he was declared dead by the doctors who attended upon him.

The circumstances under which he died, wheather it is a case of suicide or there was any other reason is being investigated, they said. Further details will be shared later, they added.
