Srinagar, Oct 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pulwama on Tuesday said to have arrested a terror associate along with 10 grenades.

A police spokesman said that on 29th October, based on inputs about an imminent terror attack in Pulwama town, a joint naka of Pulwama SOG, 55RR and CRPF 182Bn, was laid in the evening hours at the Circular road, Pulwama.

During the checking, police said that one person namely Danish Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad of Dangerpora, Pulwama, who was travelling on his Scooty, was asked to stop at the circular road and search was made.

Upon checking, police said that 10 live grenades and 05 batteries were found to be in his possession which were carefully wrapped and kept in the under seat of the two wheeler.

Cognizance of the said recovery has been taken and a case hnder FIR number 224/2024 under section 18, 39 UAPA, ¾ Explosives Act, and the said suspect was arrested, police said, adding that further investigation into this matter is going on and more arrests are likely to take place.
