Rajouri, Sep 29: A gunfight broke out in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri district today later evening, officials said.

An official told KNO that that security forces launched a search operation in the area after receiving inputs about the presence of terrorists.

He said during the search operation, an encounter ensued between the terrorists and the forces.

He added, further details about the operation are awaited, and there has been no immediate confirmation regarding any casualties or arrests.

This is the second gunfight in Jammu region in 36 hours as yesterday a police officer was killed and two others injured while as a terrorist was killed today in Kog area of Bilawar in Kathua.
