Bishnah (J&K), Sep 28: Indian National Congress leader and party’s General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Saturday said that the terrorism has not ended in Jammu & Kashmir and that there is suffocation in the Union territory for the last ten years. She added that the Congress is committed to ensure the restoration of Statehood and 150-year-old Darbar Move practice here.

Addressing a gathering as per KNO in Bishnah, Priyanka criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for speaking about the restoration of Statement, saying that it is BJP, who has snatched the Statehood of J&K and now are seeking people’s support to restore it again.

Priyanka vowed to restore the Statehood of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that Congress has a vision for J&K which includes the restoration of Statehood, 150-year-old traditional practice of Darbar Move. She also added that the party will also protect the land and jobs for the J&K people.

The Congress leader has also made it clear that the process of installation of smart meters will be put to an end if the party is voted to power, adding that the pending bills of people will be waived off. She also added that the rehabilitation process for Kashmir Pandits started during the tenure of Dr Manmohan Singh will be resumed as well.

Moreover, Priyanka targeted the government over terror incidents, saying that the terrorism as being claimed is not over in Jammu and Kashmir as 683 incidents have taken place in which 260 security Forces and 170 civilians got killed and questioned whether it is the ‘Naya J&K’.

The AICC General Secretary further said that the policies in Jammu and Kashmir are being framed and designed to benefit the outsiders, saying that mineral blocks and other things have been handed over to the people from outside J&K. “The people hailing from J&K are being pushed to the wall while constructing their houses as the resources available in J&K are being provided to the outsiders,” she said, adding that it is easy to make this statement on the stage, but the people in front of her have borne the brunt.

“There are scams everywhere and even the jobs are being delayed with it,” she said, adding that Congress, if voted to power, will fill one lakh job vacancies and ensure there are no paper leaks so that the jobs are provided to the youngsters without any delay.

Reacting over the drug menace, Vadra said that the BJP is tightlipped over the rising menace as the party knows unemployment is among the major reasons behind it.

She also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for speaking about her family most of the times in his speeches, saying that people need to know what benefits the government is going to provide them instead of speaking against anyone, adding that there has been no change in the last ten years and there is suffocation in J&K.
