Srinagar, Jun 26: A review meeting of Motor Vehicles Department under the chairmanship of Neeraj Kumar, Secretary to the Government, Transport Department J&K was convened at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.

The meeting was attended by Rajinder Singh Tara, Transport Commissioner J&K, Rajeshwar Singh Charak, Additonal Secretary to the Govt. Tpt Department, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf,JKAS Addl.Transport Commissioner ,Vinay Samotra, Joint TPt. Commissioner J&K, besides all RTOs/ARTOs of UT of J&K.

The Transport Commissioner J&K gave a brief presentation regarding functioning of the department.

Among other things, the issue related to transport arrangements both at Baltal Ganderbal and Chandanwari Anantnag were discussed threadbare.

Instructions were issued that Clconcerned ARTO’S shall discharge their duties so as to provide hassle free services to commuters may not suffer during SANJAY 2024.

Secretary to the Government emphasised that road checking to book the offenders need to be intensified across UT of J&K.

Besides ,compounding the awareness about Road safety among violaters also need to be enhanced further.

The issue of establishing Driving Training Centres (DTC’s) in different districts was also districts.

Transport Commissioner J&K during the course of meeting asked the concerned RTOs, ARTOs to take immediate measures so that cases of identified lands could be processed further.

The RTOs, ARTOs were directed that the road checking should be a routine feature with focus on speed limit devices, overloading, driving without helmet and drunken driving etc.

Instructions were also issued that the public delivery system is further improved in order to provide services to the public as per fixed timeline to bring more efficiency in the system.
