Inclement Weather: Class work suspended in Uri, Gurez, Kupwara, Bandipora schools

Srinagar, Apr 29: The class work in the schools at multiple places including Uri, Gurez, Kupwara and low lying areas of Bandipora has been suspended in wake of the inclement weather conditions on Monday.

Kashmir parts continue to receive rains for the last several days, bringing down the mercury and also increases the water level in all the water bodies here.

In wake of the prevailing weather conditions, the orders have been issues at multiple places by the authorities with regard to the closure of schools for a day.

Sub District Magistrate, Gurez has said that in view of snowfall, class work in all educational institutions of Sub Division Gurez shall remain suspended today on 29-04-2024.

Moreover, the district administration Kupwara said in view of inclement weather and avalanche warning issued by JKDMA, the class work in all the schools is suspended across the District on 29-4-2024 as a precautionary measure for the safety of students.

However the teaching, non-teaching staff shall attend their duties to monitor the situation and ensure safety of institutional assets of their respective institutions, the order added.

Similar orders were issued in Uri and low lying area of Bandipora.
