Police attaches residential house of drug peddler in Kulgam

Srinagar, Mar 19: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam have attached the residential house of a drug peddler on Tuesday, a spokesman said.

“Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Kulgam attached property (Single story residential house) worth approx. ₹1,014,894, measuring 976.76 Sq. ft belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Ghulam Mohammad Mir @Gull Kasai Son of Mohd Abdullah Mir resident of Bugam,” a police statement issued here reads.

The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No. 166/2015 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act & 77/2022 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act of PS Kulgam, it said.

The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the said drug peddler, the statement said.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of J&K Police, the spokesman said.
