After renovation, Ganta Ghar turns into major tourist attraction in Sgr

Srinagar, Dec 22: A few months after the refurbishment of the famous Ganta Ghar (Clock tower) in the commercial hub Lal Chowk, the spot has turned out to be a major attraction for the tourists here.

A huge rush of people could be witnessed throughout the day at the Ganta Ghar where the visitors can be either seen relaxing or clicking pictures.

Both the locals as well as the other domestic tourists could be seen enjoying at the spot while the cut-size photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been placed at the spot, which has also turned an attraction as the people could be seen clicking selfies with the cut-size photo of PM Modi.

According to INS, the officials said that the famous clock tower has been renovated under the Smart City Project and is attracting the people visiting Jammu and Kashmir.

“The tourists from different parts of the country and other countries are visiting the place now, which is helping the local traders in the business hub to earn their livelihood as well,” the official said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir is already known for it’s picturesque places and these spots are further proving boom for the tourism sector here.

He added that a few places have come up under the Smart city project which include wire free market, Polo View, Jhelum View Front, Ganta Ghar and others. “These places have been witnessing a good rush of people,” he added.

The official further stated that several Smart City projects are also coming up in Shehr-e-Khaas, which would also attract the visitors.
