Poonch, Dec 21: Army on Thursday said that gunfight with militants started in Buffiaz area of Surankote in Poonch amid a Cordon-and-Search-Operation on Thursday.

“Based on hard intelligence, a joint operation was launched in general area of DKG last night. Contact has been established today evening and encounter is in progress,” Army’s Jammu based spokesperson said in a statement to GNS.

“Further details being ascertained,” he added.

Meanwhile reinforcements of army and police have been rushed to the area.
