Night chill intensifies as mercury plummets across Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 19: The night chill has intensified once again across Kashmir as the minimum temperature has recorded a further dip on Tuesday while the weatherman has predicted dry weather till December 28.

As per the INS, as predicted by the Meteorological department, the minimum temperature has plummeted across Kashmir.

According to the data, the minimum temperature at multiple places have gone down by over 3 degrees compared to previous night.

Similarly in Srinagar, the .mercury settled at-3.7°C, compared to 0.5°C on previous night.

In Qazigund, the night temperature has recorded a fall by nearly 3 degree Celsius as the station recorded a low of-4.2°C compared to 0.8°C on previous night.

Pahalgam has recorded the coldest night of season at -6.9°C while Kokernag recorded a low of -3.1°C.

Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort in north Kashmir has recorded a low of -6.6°C while Kupwara recorded a low of -3.8°C.

Pertinently, the weatherman has predicted dry weather conditions till December 28.

As per the forecast, the light snowfall is expected at isolated higher reaches on December 23 while the weather would mostly remain dry till December 28.

Overall, no significant weather activity is expected till December 28, the officials in the Meteorological department said.
