Div Com kick-starts plantation drive at Eco-Park, Shalimar Canal

Srinagar, Dec 16: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Saturday kick-started plantation drive by planting a conifer sapling at Eco-park near Shalimar canal which was organized by Lakes Conservative and Management Authority.

The Div Com on the occasion said that the plantation will help to counteract the adverse impacts of pollution and protect the fragile environment.

Vice Chairman LCMA and CEO Srinagar Smart City Limited also took part in a plantation drive in the eco-park to reiterate their commitment to enhance the green cover and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Later, Div Com inspected the development works on the banks of Shalimar canal and instructed concerned authorities to complete all works and prepare it for the final inauguration.
