After 75 years, Diwali festival celebrated at Sharda temple

Teetwal, Nov 12: Diwali, a festival, was on Sunday celebrated with gaiety at Sharda temple along LoC Teetwal, reviving the 75 year old history.

It was for the first time that Diwali was celebrated here after partition during which the temple & gurudwara was burnt down in tribal raids.

The puja was performed by Commander Kumara Das of 104 Vijay shakti brigade in presence of Ravinder Pandita, Head & founder of Save Sharda committee Kashmir regd.

Scores of locals and Sikhs from Tribhoni village took part in the celebrations.

Satyanarayan Puja was performed and sweets were distributed amongst the present.

On the occasion, Tehsildar Tangdhar Eyad Qadri, Activist Dr Sandeep Mawa, Sharda Committee members Ajaz Khan, Iftikhar, Retd capt Ilyas, Hamid Mir and Sikhs from Tribhoni were present.

Earlier civil society members of PoK came on Chilhana side and greeted Ravinder Pandita & members with waving of white flags & slogans of Diwali felicitation.

A cake was also presented by civil society of Teetwal on this occasion.
