DC Sgr, Tourism officials visit Dal Lake fire victims

Srinagar, Nov 11: Deputy commissioner Srinagar and officials of Tourism department on Saturday visited fire incident site in Dal Lake where a massive blaze destroyed several houseboats early morning today.

An official told KNO that the officials assured the houseboat owners that the issue of rebuilding of houseboats will be addressed on priority.

He said that provision of adequate timber for reconstruction will also be addressed and a special committee will be formed to fast track the cases.

Earlier, massive blaze destroyed several houseboats near Ghat No. 9 in the Dal Lake, however, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
