Anantnag, Sep 28: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at GMC Anantnag organized a highly informative one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) event focused on “Adnexal Masses and Women’s Health” in collaboration with Gaziabad Obstetric and Gynecological Society.

This significant gathering took place at the main campus in Dialgam on the 28th of September 2023, aiming to shed light on critical issues related to women’s health, a statement issued here reads.

The event commenced with great enthusiasm as Dr (Prof) Anjum Farhana, the Principal of GMC Anantnag, inaugurated the function and welcomed all the delegates from across the country, in particular the eminent Gynecologist, Dr Mannu Bhatnagar, wife of Advisor to LG of Jammu and Kashmir, R R Bhatnagar. Her presence and support emphasized the importance of the conference in the field of women’s health and gynecology.

To provide an insightful introduction to the conference’s themes and objectives, Dr. Syed Nawaz, the Head of the Department of Gynecology, and Dr. Razia Amin, both renowned experts in their respective fields, addressed the attendees. Their welcome remarks set the stage for a day of learning and discussion.

A key highlight of the CME was the comprehensive discussions and presentations surrounding the management of adnexal masses. Adnexal masses are a common concern in gynecology, and their proper management is vital for women’s well-being.

The event featured various speakers, experts, and researchers who delved into the latest research, diagnostic techniques, and treatment options for adnexal masses, ensuring that healthcare professionals in attendance gained valuable insights to better serve their patients.

The one-day CME served as a significant platform for healthcare providers to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and enhance their understanding of adnexal masses and women’s health. Dr Tanzeela Nazir, Organizing chairman said that this event at GMC Anantnag’s main campus was a testament to the commitment of the medical community to continually improve the quality of care and services for women in the region.

The successful organization of the CME event on “Adnexal Masses and Women’s Health” was made possible through the collaborative efforts of esteemed medical professionals. Professor Dr. Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, Professor Dr. Sajad Majid Qazi, and Dr. Shahid served as the co-organizing chairpersons, playing pivotal roles in orchestrating the conference.

Ensuring the smooth execution of the event, Dr. Showket H Tali, Dr. Shagufta Yousuf and Dr Aquisa Bashir took on the responsibilities of organizing secretaries while as Dr Tajali, Dr Sami Magray and Dr Bilal Najar were conference mediators. Their dedication and coordination were instrumental in making the conference a success.

This conference drew a diverse group of attendees, including delegates from the health department and medical colleges of the Union Territory, as well as participants from various parts of the country. The diverse audience included faculty members, consultants, medical officers, and medical students, all of whom came together to engage in discussions, share knowledge, and learn from one another.

Dr. Owais H Dar, serving as the spokesperson GMC Anantnag, played a crucial role in communicating updates, information, and highlights related to the CME; their role in keeping attendees informed and engaged throughout the conference was invaluable.
