Gunfight In Hilly Area In Rajouri

Jammu, May 5; A gunfight has started between militants and joint team of army and police in Kesari area of Kandi hamlet in Rajouri district.

A police officer said that the “contact” with militants was established in the hilly area at about 8 a.m. “Exchange of fire is going on. Police and security forces are on the job,” the officer said, adding, “Further details will be shared later”. He said that there has been a massive operation going on in the area after the April 21 attack on the army near Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian–Bhimber Ghati sector in Poonch in which five soldiers were killed and another injured. Later officials confirmed that the attackers also fled away with the weapons of the soldiers.
