Saying that the University of Kashmir is among first universities in the country to implement the NEP-2020 at the UG level, Prof Nilofer complimented the DMS for holding the collaborative workshop, which was attended by students from various academic institutions in Kashmir, including children from Srinagar schools.

Chancellor, CT University, Mr S Charan Singh Channi, who was a guest of honour, said his University aims to create a strong bond with the University of Kashmir to collaborate in areas of teaching and research. He also highlighted the CT University’s association with the University of Kashmir right from 2008.

Dean Academic Affairs KU Prof Farooq A Masoodi highlighted the salient features of NEP-2020, including flexibility and entry-exit options. He urged young students to study the NEP document to understand its important aspects.

Registrar KU, Dr Nisar A Mir said the component of skill development has been embedded in the NEP-2020 in view of its importance for young students to become employment-givers rather than employment-seekers in future. He also said the NEP-2020 promotes access, equity and excellence, as also the personality development of youth.
